"God's Special Time"

Goal:

We believe God has directed us to purchase a building that would become the world headquarters for the Kairos Prison Ministry, and we have developed Project Goliath as a vehicle to communicate what we feel is a calling of God on the ministry at this time.

Name:

When God wanted his people to enter the land of the Philistines, the people encountered a huge obstacle …Goliath. The KPMI Board of Directors has authorized the purchase of a building for the international office with an end in mind of keeping the cost of the space at or below the current rent, but there was a small obstacle – the funds for a down payment. But as the Kairos Foundation, prayed about this, we clearly heard God directing us to pay cash for the building. In the long run this would allow us to redirect the overhead funds currently used to pay rent and funnel them to help support the growth of the ministry. As we move out in obedience, what was a ‘small obstacle’ has now become a ‘Goliath’. The “Davids” in this scenario are each of us who volunteer or financially support the ministry. The pebbles are our donations (whether large or small) that God will use to eliminate this ‘Goliath’. With this on our hearts, the Kairos Foundation has dubbed this “Project Goliath.”

Details:

A letter to the entire Kairos database asking all ministry volunteers to seek God and his direction in providing their ‘pebble’ in the form of a $20 tax deductible donation. We chose $20 because the Foundation believes that every possible volunteer and supporter of Kairos should be able to have a part in slaying this ‘Goliath’.

Impact:

The impact of a successful Project Goliath will be threefold:

1. The elimination of a monthly rent or mortgage payment (a $60K-80K savings each year)

2. Resources previously used for those fixed expenses can now be reallocated to help grow the ministry and support the volunteer base

3. The KPMI Foundation has passed a motion that requires it to tithe back to each State and International Community 10% of all contributions resulting from Project Goliath that came from their state or country.

Dream:

A dream of Project Goliath is to bring everyone together, for a single purpose, as a worldwide Kairos Community and to set a tone that the KPMI Foundation’s purpose is to help everyone that serves this Ministry at every level.

The Dream is in your hands. The tithe the KPMI Foundation will send back to the States from Project Goliath is our commitment. Now let’s gather our pebbles-we have work to do!
